Marcy Cotov
Vice President - Operational Consulting
Marcy Cotov is a Vice President in First Tryon’s operational consulting practice where her focus is on working with local government clients. Marcy has 40 years of experience in government finance. She worked almost 31 years in Virginia, including 16 years in local government finance and 10 years of finance in the K-12 education field. In 2024, Marcy retired after serving as the Chief Finance Officer for the Town of Mount Pleasant, SC for nine years. Mount Pleasant, rated “Aaa/AAA” by Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s, has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States.
Over the course of her public service career, Marcy’s responsibilities have included strategic and capital planning, managing various fund budgets and budgeting, accounting, purchasing, business licensing, and directing various departments including information technology and fleet management.
Marcy is a graduate of Old Dominion University. As a new member of First Tryon’s operational consulting practice, Marcy is working toward becoming a Municipal Advisor Representative (Series 50).
